The slight coral undertones really compliment my olive skin well. For me, I love the shade of this lipstick, it is my perfect nude. You need to find which nude undertones (yes there is more than just beige) suit your skin tone the best. Overall I give this a 8/10. Nude lipsticks are not ‘one size fits all’. Velvet Teddy lasts an average of 3 hours on me before I see some fading. This is a matte lipstick which can emphasize lines on dry lips so I would recommend exfoliating your lips or putting on a primer beforehand. Light skin tones may find this too dark to be a neutral- I’d say this would work best as a subtle wash on medium to dark skin tones. Velvet Teddy has slight medium coral undertones, which keep the life in my lips while still giving me a soft wash of colour. This is my balance between going too light where I look dead to too brown where I look dated and kind of vampy. If you are in search of a nude lipstick but find that the ones you’ve tried either make you look dead or like a manikin, then Velvet Teddy would be worth a try.

I think this lipstick would suit most skintones, but for a warmer complexion, Mocha is a must and I find it to be very underrated. So, if you have a warmer undertone and find nude lipsticks just wash you out, I can’t recommend this lipstick enough! It would be perfect.

They have so many shades to suit any skintone! Plus they smell incredible 🙂 I really am falling more and more in love with MAC lipsticks everyday. If you’re in a rush in the morning and don’t have time to put any makeup on, a swipe of this will really polish you up and brighten your face. In artificial lighting, this shade looks so amazing and effortless! It really is my holy grail nude lipstick, and goes well with a heavy look or even a touch of highlighter and peachy coloured blush.
